Faced with the problems concerning our suburb Melrose North, ranging from traffic patterns, events, water pressure, missing manhole covers to rezoning, security to electricity; interested residents decided to form an association, which would give it the legal status to address these matters and negotiate with the relevant authorities.
A founding committee was formed and a constitution agreed upon. The City Manager was duly notified of the Association by registered post.
By joining the association, you will be able to raise matters of concern to you, your family and your neighbours and reap the benefits of having the addressed by a concerted and concerned, legally constituted body.
On 19 October 2004 a meeting was held, attended by single-home residents as well as representatives of flats, townhouses and clusters, where it was agreed that in order to carry out its business, the association should levy an annual membership fee per household.
